Tarantella
Mira Sorvino and Matthew Lillard made this little independent for first (and only) time director Helen De Michiel, which feels pretty obviously torn from her roots. The story follows Sorvino's Diana, who returns home when her mother dies and rediscovers her Italian heritage through a kindly neighbor (Rose Gregorio), who is also dying. Lillard is on hand to eat cannolis. It's a bit saccharine, and Sorvino does not make for a sympathetic heroine at all. Nor does she really strike you as very Italian (though yes, I know, she is).
