Midaq Alley

A film review by Christopher Null - Copyright © 1999 Filmcritic.com

Also known as El callejón de los milagros, the producers will not hesitate for a second to tell you this is "the most awarded film in Mexican history." That may carry some weight with cineastes and film historians, but Midaq Alley turns out to be little more than a long (2 1/2 hours) Mexican soap opera with its basic premise stolen from Rashomon. Not much you have to do to get those Mexican awards, it appears.

Aka El callejón de los milagros.
