Ecstasy

A film review by Christopher Null - Copyright © 2003 Filmcritic.com

Ah, the scandal! A fully naked Hedy Lamarr traipsed through the forest and swam in a lake before dumping her new husband, all because he refused to sleep with her. Okay, it is a little scandalous after all. At its heart Ecstasy is a story about finding love (Hedy meets a younger guy more open to her wanton ways during the aforementioned nude scene). Very daring for the silent film era, the pic is still pretty simple and a bit saccharine, though it's easy to watch thanks to some fine performances.

Aka Extase.
