If Another Gay Movie was the gay American Pie, then Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild is the gay Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise. In this chapter of the saga -- with any luck the last chapter -- our intrepid gay foursome heads to Fort Lauderdale for fun in the sun. Fans of the original movie will notice right away that three of the four leads have been replaced by new actors, a fact the film jokingly acknowledges by pointing out that actors' agents tell them it's OK to do a gay part once but never twice, lest you be typecast for life.

That's no problem for Jonah Blechman, who stars again as the supremely swishy Nico, a lovelorn fashion victim who can never seem to get any nookie. Maybe he'll have better luck at this gay spring break, where he and his buddies, the lovable nerd and the "monogamous" couple (Jake Mosser, Aaron Michael Davies, Jimmy Clabots), enter a contest called "Who can enjoy the greatest number of sexual couplings this weekend?" Actually, the name of the contest is much shorter and it starts with an F.

Presiding over the contest are RuPaul and The Lady Bunny, who break the fourth wall to deliver numerous product placements directly to the audience as if they were models from The Price Is Right. If you're wondering which brands of briefs and lube are au courant in the gay community, now you know.

As is the case in any teen sex farce, our horny quartet races around the hotel looking for action only to be thwarted by creeps, sexually transmitted crabs, cheating competitors (most notably Will Wikle as Mr. Perfect in a Speedo), and even a taboo tiki straight out of The Brady Bunch's Hawaiian adventure. Throughout the proceedings, Blechman gets little moments to channel Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Christina Crawford, and other gay icons. His main love interest turns out to be an imaginary merman played by one of today's leading gay porn stars, and two other porn celebs pop up in brief cameos, one, somewhat amusingly, as that always reliable porn staple, "the pizza boy." Yes, this movie is really, really gay.

There are little heartwarming lessons along the way: It's OK to wait. I am what I am. Monogamy is cool. But in between those Hallmark moments are vomit fountains, cosplay incest, sex partners stuck together with superglue, scat jokes, lethal-looking sex toys, and in a moment that may signal the end of the world as we know it, a one-man ballet performed by Blechman celebrating the euphoria of what are euphemistically called "water sports." Production notes point out that Blechman is actually a professional dancer trained by Baryshnikov. Oh Misha, what hath thou wrought?

Still, if the breeders can have sex farces, so can the gays, and, to paraphrase Nico's philosophy, this movie "is what it is" and will certainly appeal to anyone who isn't too embarrassed to walk into a theater and pay $11 for 90 minutes of butts and bulges.
