• James Cameron announced plans to screen fifteen minutes of Avatar at select IMAX and 3D theaters in August. A 24-minute clip from the film also screened to a rapturous crowd at Comic-Con.

Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con to talk about Alice In Wonderland and 3D movies with director Tim Burton. Meanwhile, Robert Zemeckis discussed how he wants to make nothing but creepy motion-capture films.

• The Tron sequel is now called Tron Legacy. Isn't the legacy of Tron a lot of terrible video game movies?

The late Heath Ledger was remembered at Comic-Con at a panel for his final movie, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

• The first trailer for The Hughes Brothers' The Book of Eli, starring Denzel Washington, has been released. Can audiences handle more than one cautionary post-apocalyptic tale this fall?
