The Curious Case of Benjamin Button leads the Oscar pack with a total of thirteen nods, including ones for Best Picture, Best Actor (Brad Pitt) and Best Director (David Fincher). Slumdog Millionaire nabbed a total of ten nominations, including ones for Best Picture, Best Director (Danny Boyle) and Adapted Screenplay (Simon Beaufoy). On the acting front, Doubt is the big leader with all of its leads scoring nominations. Heath Ledger also entered Oscar history with his posthumous Best Supporting Actor nomination for The Dark Knight, one year to the day of his tragic death. One surprise: Clint Eastwood failed to garner an acting nod for Gran Torino.
