• It's now a sibling rivalry: SAG's sister union, AFTRA, is profiting from SAG's potential walk-out. At least, that's what Fox, Warner Bros. and Disney want you to think.
• Canadians like stories about struggling Americans: The Toronto Film Critics Association gave Wendy and Lucy their best picture award and Michelle Williams best actress for her performance. They also liked Rachel Getting Married, about a dysfunctional American family.
• It looks like High School Musical 3: Senior Year could win an Oscar. Forty-nine tunes have been deemed eligible to compete in the best original song category and eleven of them are from the Disney movie.
• Time announced today that Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou was a finalist for their 2008 person of the year. He lost to some guy named Barack Obama.
• Fox and Warner Bros. will have their day in court. Just not yet. A Los Angeles federal judge has moved the trial for Watchmen back two weeks to Jan. 20 after declining to issue a ruling on whether Fox or Warner Bros. controls the rights to the project.
