It was one of the worst movies ever made and now it's back -- as a comic. In March, Bluewater Productions will release Plan 9 From Outer Space Strikes Again, the story of what happens after the movie ends. The comic is part of a development deal with restoration studio Legend Films, the company that brought the Ed Wood cult classic back to theaters in 2006.
"Plan 9 From Outer Space features aliens, zombies, vampires, ghouls, super bombs and a lot more, all in just 79 minutes," explains artist Giovanni P. Timpano. "With this comic book, we tried to repeat that weirdness -- in just 28 pages." Chad Helder (Vincent Price Presents) is the writer for the cult adaptation.
The non-celluloid sequel shows what happens when a corrupt team of government scientists reactivate the zombie horde in order to lure the aliens back to Earth. Why would they do such a thing? To steal the most hideous weapon known to intergalactic intelligence, of course. Only conspiracy theorist, Eugene, and his mother, a former professional wrestler, can expose the government's plan as they fight off the growing zombie horde. When the aliens invades Earth, Eugene, his mother and the last remaining heroes of a corrupt government must thwart Plan 9 once again!
