They're not called special effects for nothing. Neither cheap to produce, nor easy to accomplish, they're what makes a movie magic. When the job's done right, the effects can be out of this world. Literally. Movies can take viewers -- to quote the animated toy Buzz Lightyear -- "to infinity and beyond."
